She amazed and inspired the audience. In 1930 she marched with Gandhi and friended Marilyn Monroe in the 1950s.
Her twenty-six-year-old dance partner, Vard, shared with the judges that Tao’s had three hip replacements. Tao’s reply: “I don’t let anything get the better of me.”
